REPAIRS
We strive to be your 'go-to' place for all sorts of glass repairs.
No job is too small or too big for our staff to tackle.
BEFORE VISITING THE CENTER:
- You should take a picture of the damaged piece
- Send your picture to inspired@benzaitencenter.org
- A staff member will then set up an appointment
for you to come in with your piece
- Or we will let you know if it cannot be repaired
THE BROKEN VIOLIN REPAIR:
The client ordered a new neck from Italy, but needed someone to cut off the broken neck and attach the new one
After carefully cutting off the broken neck of the violin there was a lot of cold working to be done. But we have all the skill and necessary equipment to do the job.
After the expert cold working, this is what it looked like:
After epoxying the replacement arm to the violin it turned out as good as new!
THE OUTDOOR LIGHT REPAIR:
This is a frequent repair job, but our glassblowers can replicate any shape, size and style glass globe to
replace what you had before and like magic you have a completely repaired outdoor light fixture!
THE BROKEN LAMP REPAIR:
This shows the broken base of a large glass lamp.
The lamp had to be put in a kiln to be warmed up so that the broken base could be carefully removed.
Once the old base is removed a newly blown base is made. Then both sides are cut and ground.
After both sides are cold worked ,they are epoxied together, and voila, you have a perfect lamp!
THE DANCING MAN REPAIR:
This was a fairly simple repair because it was a clean break. But using the correct type of epoxy and getting the
ratios exactly right is key to a lasting and solid repair...one that will support the very top-heavy weight of this torso!
CIRCLE SCULPTURE REPAIR:
This was a complicated repair, but with our artisans, nothing is too difficult for them to tackle!
