NIGHTTIME CLASSES
Date Night is Back!
Starting October 2, 2026
Have Fun and Learn Glassblowing at the same night!
The 1st Friday is Date Night at Benzaiten. Each couple receives a glass of wine or a beer. You get to mingle with other couples.
Couples can make a vase or a floppy bowl
together, OR each person can make their
own hot-sculpted piece.
Choose a starfish, a heart or a flower.
Three Time Slots: 6-7 PM, 7-8 & 8-9 PM
Up to 2 Couples per Time Slot
$150 per Couple
REQUIRED:
- Wear closed toe shoes, no sandals!
- Wear natural fiber clothing like cotton or linen
(or a good blend), nothing 100% synthetic, but
shorts & T-shirts are recommended-it will be hot!
- Long hair needs to be tied back.
- Minimum age is 12

Enjoy an intensive immersion into flameworking in the evening with instructor Geoff Platt. Conveniently timed for those of you who work, these nighttime classes will help take you to the next level.

After taking a few one-up classes, some of our visitors want to try their hands at something more complicated. One can only get better by doing! So, we have designed these 3-hour, 4-week classes to do just that. Many students opt to take more than one 4-week course. Eventually, after several of these courses, you might want to continue to the 'Intermediate Glassblowing' course.

Learning the Fundamentals
of Fused Glass
Fusing
Fusing is a type of glasswork in which room temperature color glass is layered in a design or pattern and then put into a kiln where the glass fuses together into one piece. Come be adventurous and learn about the varied possibilities of glass fusing!
Fusing in a Flash
No experience is needed for this class
1.5 Hours
Nights: Thursdays (except after a 1st Tuesday class)
1st Tuesday of every month
Times: 6-7:30PM
Cost: $75 per Person

This introductory 1 ½ hour class gives you the opportunity to work hands on with cold glass on a smaller more personal level. We will cover the fundamental concepts of producing glass pieces in a kiln, and you will create your own glass art to bring home.
Your Instructor will let you know when your
piece is ready to be picked up

Fusing Foundations
No experience is needed for this class
Learn the basics of fused glass. Students will learn how to cut glass then shape glass using saws and grinders.
This will enable you to create art glass pieces in either functional or sculptural forms.
Topics will include firing techniques, slumping/draping as well as cold working methods to achieve a professional finish to the work.
Proper safety precautions will be followed. Hand tools will be supplied. Specialty glass can be purchased in our shop. Out side glass can not be brought into the studio.
All firings are included
Minimum age - 12 with an adult.
Maximum 6 people.
