Glassblowing
Glassblowing is the art or process of shaping molten glass into various forms by blowing air into a mass at the end of a tube and/or shaping it with tools.
The Experience:
1 Hour
Days & Times: Thursday – Saturday; 10 & 11 AM, 1, 2 or 3:30 PM
Sunday; 11:30 AM, 12:30, 2 & 3 (Starting April 13th)
Cost: $225 for 1 or 2 People
This experience gives you the opportunity to see just how magical working with glass can be. You will work one-on-one with an artist creating a basic form in glass. During this 1 hour, 2 pieces will be created. If 2 people attend, each will make 1 piece. If 1 person attends, they will make 2 pieces. Safety, use of tools, and color application will be covered. There are several forms to choose from such as a floppy bowl, a vase, a drinking glass, a paperweight, or a flower. Your pieces may be ready after 24 hours. Please call the office to confirm before you come to pick them up.
Minimum age is 12
REQUIRED:
- Wear closed toe shoes, no sandals!
- Wear natural fiber clothing like cotton or linen (or a good blend), nothing 100% synthetic, but shorts & T-shirts are recommended-it will be hot!
- Long hair needs to be tied back and secured to not fall forward

Date Night: 1st Friday of the Month!
Have Fun and Learn Glassblowing at the same night! The 1st Friday is Date Night at Benzaiten. Each couple receives a drink of wine or beer. You get to mingle with other couples.
Couples can make either one glassblown item like a vase or a floppy bowl or each person can make a hot-sculpted piece such as a heart or a flower.
Two Time Slots: 5-7PM or 7-9PM Available
Up to 6 Couples a Time Slot
$150 per Couple

Flameworking
Flameworking is a type of glasswork in which a small torch, mounted to table, is used to melt rods of glass. Once in a molten state, the glass is shaped using hand movements, tools and sometimes by blowing.
Beginner Flameworking I:
1.5 Hours
Days offered: Fridays & Saturdays
Times: 10:30AM, 1PM or 3PM
Cost: $65 per Person
In this 1 ½ hour introduction you will receive personal step-by-step instruction on creating a beginner level flameworking piece such as a pendant, marble, or sculptural work. We will cover safety, use of tools, and color application.
Your Instructor will let you know when your piece is ready to be picked up

Fusing
Fusing is a type of glasswork in which room temperature color glass is layered in a design or pattern and then put into a kiln where the glass fuses together into one piece. Come be adventurous and learn about the varied possibilities of glass fusing!

1.5 Hours

This introductory 1 ½ hour class gives you the opportunity to work hands on with cold glass on a smaller more personal level.
We will cover the fundamental concepts of producing glass pieces in a kiln, and you will create your own glass art to bring home.

WORKSHOPS
From time to time the Benzaiten Center for Creative Arts will put together some fun and educational workshops for extending the knowledge of the citizens of Palm Beach County. Some will be for people without any prior artistic experience while others will be targeted towards our artistic community in order to offer a more in-depth experience via some of our renowned 'Visiting Artists.' Glass Enameling Workshop
Days: Saturday, March 15, 2025
Times: 1 - 3:30PM
Cost: $125.00 per person
Explore an exciting new way to work with glass-learn enameling techniques! You will learn how to sift glass enamel powders onto precut copper shapes to create beautiful jewelry pieces. The results are amazing!
We will teach you all about proper materials, shop safety when using enamel powders and how to create intricate designs on small surfaces.

Fused Glass Tabletop Workshop
Days: Saturday, April 5, 2025
Times: 10AM - 2PM
Cost: $475
In this beginner friendly class, students will design and create a
10” x10” fused glass tabletop. Students will learn to score and cut glass. You will embellish your unique design with glass stringers, frit and paint. After creating your piece, it will then be fired in the kiln.
Your instructor will let you know when your table is ready to be picked up.
A welded steel, side table height base, by metal artist Steve Bush is included in the class.
Closed toe shoes required.
Fabiano Zanchi Returns!
Fabiano's workshop was so popular last year that we decided to have him back this year for another one!!
The beautiful chandelier pictured to the left was created in last year's workshop. We have since sold it to a local collector.

Fused Glass Menorah Workshop

Make a beautiful fused glass menorah (approximately 8" high x 16" long) for your home or to give as a wonderful gift! Please feel free to bring a snack and beverage with you for this 4 hour workshop.
