Glass Blowing

The Experience:

This basic class gives you the opportunity to see just how magical working with glass can be. You will be given step-by-step instruction on creating a basic form in glass. We will cover safety, use of tools, and color application. Several forms to choose from: Bowl, Vase, Drinking Glass, Pendant Light, Wave Paperweight

  • Cost: $75
  • Time: 20-25 minutes
  • When:
    • Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 1pm - 5pm
    • Saturday: 10am - 6pm

 

The Intro:

This class is essentially three experiences in one session. All the basics will be covered but more time will allow for three pieces to be created and give a more hands-on approach. Each student will be able to make a couple different forms to give a broader experience.

  • Cost: $150
  • Time: 1.5 hours
  • Minimum of 2 students
  • When:
    • Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 1pm - 5pm
    • Saturday: 10am - 6pm

 

Glass 101:

This is our six/eight week class for students looking to build the necessary skills to create their own works of art. Again, all the basics will be covered but provides a more complete understanding of the glass-making process. We look more in-depth at different forms and applying color but also explore adding handles, surface decoration and working bigger. The emphasis is on skill development.

  • Cost: $500/$700
  • Time: 3 hours per week for six/eight weeks
  • Minimum of 4 students

 

Blow Your Own Ornaments Workshop:

These special workshops will be arranged where one product is made the whole day. A special weekend in late November or early December will be scheduled for Christmas and Hanukah Ornaments.

 

Master Workshops:

Various professional glass artists from around the country and globe will teach special weekend or week long workshops. These will be tailored to convey more specific information and/or techniques. These will be publicly announced as they are scheduled.
